>> Stefanie: Students who do politics or indeed international relations or the combination
of the two, very often pursue careers in international organisations,
such as the UN and the EU.
They also go on to do volunteer work with peace building organisations, with human rights
organisations.
We also have the opportunity to get famous visiting speakers to come and talk to the
students and talk to a wider audience.
Indeed recently we had Johan Galtung whose considered the founding father of peace studies
to visit Liverpool Hope University,
and he also offered workshops for students.
Our seminar discussions tend to be very interesting not only because we offer small group tutorial
sessions of one to ten,
but also because students coming to Liverpool Hope University are from a very wide range
of backgrounds and bring a lot of different experience to the class.
It is particularly interesting to study international relations in a place like Liverpool which
has a very rich international history.
