This is a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Wyandotte's again are an older breed and were developed
in the 1800's in New York State. They are again a good farm yard bird. They are good
and solid and they will grow up into a nice meat bird as well as being a consistent egg
layer. They again lay brown eggs, they have the colored ear lobes. If you remember, white
ear lobes are white eggs and colored ear lobes are colored eggs. This bird also has the distinction
of having a very small comb called the rose cone. One of the advantages of a rose comb
is they don't freeze as much in the cold. Mostly Wyandotte's are known because they
are beautiful birds. They have gorgeous feathering. There are many different kinds of Wyandotte's.
The Silver Lace is probably the most common and the Golden Lace is even more beautiful
but less common. So this is an excellent bird to have for your own use in your own barnyard.
