Lee Doyle: The University of Michigan is always looking for ways to reach out to the people
of the state that support this great state public university. And one of the things that
we try to do is bring our assets to different parts of the states, and the Traverse City
Film Festival gives us an opportunity to bring the wonderful Screen Arts and Cultures program
to the people of Northern Michigan.
The University's wonderful Screen Arts and Cultures program works with the Traverse City
Film Festival to bring people the film school and documentary review, short subject review
and also offers a venue for two student films.
We're hoping to build on this experience for both students and the public through the next
coming years and offer them an ever-growing array of experiences up in Traverse City and
elsewhere across the state to help people understand better the multimedia world that
we're building here, and also experience the film industry as it grows in the State of
Michigan.
