SARAH HAUER: Hi. I'm Sarah Hauer. SIG HAUER: And I'm Sig Hauer, and we're professional
practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. SARAH HAUER: We're here on behalf of Expert
Village. SIG HAUER: And welcome to our video. A case I recently had with a gentleman in
his early 60's. Every morning, he would wake up and he would have dry heaves, and he could
not figure out where this was coming from. He tried Western medicines; nothing seemed
to help. I did a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs, and within for about 3
to 4 treatments, his dry heaves just reduced to a mild nausea, and with a couple of more
treatments, that's been completely gone now for several weeks. So, that's a specific example
there of where the power of the needles and the herbs together can help resolve the situation
digestively. SARAH HAUER: Another case of digestive problem is a case of a woman in
her mid 50's who suffered from chronic constipation after surgery correcting hernias in her intestines.
She developed a lot of adhesions from the surgery and she wasn't able to eliminate her
bowels, so she had quite painful long term constipation. And with regular acupuncture
and a couple of dietary suggestions, it's totally remedied; she has no more problems
with constipation at all. And this is an example of also when patients come in for a condition
that was an acute condition that was causing her a lot of pain and suffering in her life;
once we resolved that, it has not recurred and we've been able to move on to other things
that she wants to deal with in her health. And basically, designer treatments are around
more of a preventive aim rather than dealing with the acute symptoms. And so, she has her
treatments occasionally when she needs them and we call them "tune-ups" because she doesn't
have any of her acute problems any more.
