Hello.
My name is Kristen Ford and I'm a Human Factors Engineer at MITRE's National Security Engineering
Center.
My work at MITRE supports MITRE's mission to connect with government sponsors on a level
that really allows us to develop products that work functionally but also work to meet
the needs of the user.
I think what made me choose MITRE over other companies is its commitment to diversity.
That's something that's really important to me-being able to go to work and connect with
people with similar backgrounds, around the same age group with similar interests as me
and varying interests as me.
I think what MITRE offers students coming right out of college is a smooth transition.
I know a lot of people who graduated the same year as me have found it a little difficult
to adjust to the demands of work versus the demands of college.
So I think MITRE is really good about allowing you to remain a student while preparing you
to be a great teacher.
I also think MITRE is really great about giving me responsibility and giving recent hires
as well as people who've been here for a while opportunities to really explore what they're
good at and to learn new skills too.
I think that's really, really great.
