Oh hi, I'm Douglas Willott on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to talk about
coordinating your shirt with your tie. The first thing to keep in mind when you are coordinating
your tie with your shirt is what is the occasion. What is it that you are trying to communicate?
What sort of dress are you there with? Is it a formal dress? In that case, you are going
to want something more traditional. Probably like a black tie on a solid base color. Also
if it is maybe a work scenario where you want to stand out a little bit more but still look
professional think about maybe a red tie or a orange tie. Maybe with some sort of nice
settled pattern that up close looks really interesting but from far away it stills looks
like a nice big piece of color against your dress shirt. Maybe it is a night out and you
want to pop out and stand out from the crowd. Well as long as your shirt is going to stand
out, there is nothing wrong with clashing the tie a little bit so people are going to
notice the tie. After all you would not wear a shirt like this to not be seen. So why wear
a tie that is not going to be seen either. So as long as you know what your occasion
is, you can be sure that you are going to grab both the appropriate shirt and the tie
to go with it. That is very important first step.
