So this is always a good first step. Before thinking too hard about how it is that you're
going to accomplish the project that you have in front of you, just having a Drupal site
here to play around with and begin the process helps a lot. Now a good first step after you've
installed Drupal is to install several admin modules that will help you get around Drupal
to find pages that you maybe have lost or dont know where they're located and to
make the process of installing modules and managing your modules easier.
We also want to make sure that we make regular backups of our site. In the process of learning
how some of the more complicated modules work, it's very easy to break something and not
know exactly what you did so creating a backup on a regular basis will allow you to roll
back incrementally instead of starting from scratch or spending hours trying to figure
out what it is that you did. So we're also going to install a module to help with that
called back up and migrate. You can also use back up and migrate to restore at various
points in this video series to this site that we're currently working with so you dont
have to necessarily build up to it.
The administration modules that we're going to install are admin, menu and coffee, both
of which allow us to navigate the menu system more quickly. We're also going to install
module filter which will allow us to search for particular modules on what can often be
a super long modules page. So these modules are always a good place to start with this
site because it allows you to navigate the site more quickly and do the building process
more quickly. And you'll know what I mean as soon as we start using them.
