Hi! My name is Elton Hall. I'm here at Texas State Optical in Austin, Texas on behalf of
Expert Village. We are going to be talking about how to find the most comfortable contact
lenses. There are different types of contact lenses that you can use depending on your
prescription. There is a hard contact lens that's about half the size of a soft contact
lens. It's a rigid gas perm contact lens, and it looks just like that, that you are
able to use. These came out before soft contact lenses came out. I won't say obsolete, but
it is harder to find gas perm contacts lenses now. The second one that you have are soft
contact lenses. Let's put that back in there. Our soft contact lenses that you can use.
They're pliable. Very flexible and flimsy, but that's how that is. It's about twice the
size of the gas perm contact lens. See the difference in the two. Always consult your
doctor. They'll give you the best contact lenses to use. I just wanted to give you kind
of an overview of the different contact lenses that they have available to you. Now, most
likely you would get a soft contact lens, but if you do get a gas perm that's a hard
contact lens. Soft contact lenses are a little bit more comfortable to you, a little bit
easier to use. They have more water content to them. The gas perm contact lenses are pretty
hard. Most likely, your doctor would probably skip from that and go directly to the soft
starting out with the first time. Depending on your prescription, you just have to get
with the doctor. Soft contact lenses are easier to use and generally more comfortable. Just
make sure that you consult a doctor and you all an go from there.
