(with drum, singing African music from "The Lion King") ahh, zabenya! maba dichi baba!
hi internet, im lonely and sad.
so this week I want to talk about the wonderful experience I had seeing the Lion King;
the musical, not the 1994 animated classic that Disney ripped right out of Shakespeare's
cold dead hands. I went with my girlfriend for our anniversary
and I think we had a good time, despite my inability to wear nice clothes or
find reasonable parking. The show was fantastic, from the elaborate costumes, to the crazy
dancing animal-people, it was quite a spectacle.
But what I really want to talk about is the important life message the Lion King sent
me home with. Hakuna Matata. It means, no worries. If I
follow the problem-free philosophy of hakuna matata, I won't have
to deal with the pressures of school, work, or having friends anymore. From now on, I
can live my life without caring much about anything
(including things like going on a diet or growing a beard).
Some of you may argue that this will cause my life to stagnate, sending me into a downwards
spiral of anger, sadness, and microwave macaroni and cheese, and my
response to that is... yeah.
Now, I have other reasons for following Hakuna matata besides my introversion and the Lion
King. In the news this week, an asteroid big enough
to have it's own moon passed within 3.6 million miles of the earth,
coming not quite close enough to cause the mass extinction of the entire human race.
And that has me scared enough to do all of the things I was never quite
brave enough to do, (such as eating a pile of bacon doritos with barbeque sauce).
hakuna, matata. Well, I hope this video has given you some new...perspective, on life.
That's all for this week, until next time, imlonelyandsad.
