Okay!
What's up, beautiful people? I am back!
It is your homegirl, Shameless, all up in my friend's building--Ms. Lili Whiteass.
Okay, we're in Rhode Island. Where we're at.
But I'm back from Los Angeles. I was there for a month and a half, and thank you guys so much for being so patient with me...
... and understanding. I slowed down a whole lot: I went from uploading 3 videos a week to 3 videos in one month.
But I needed to. I just needed to focus, and it's really hard to focus when I am running this ship by myself.
So I did that. And now I think I went from one extreme to another so now I can try to do them both. We'll see how that goes.
But yeah, it all started off on a Shameless Sunday, very much like today. A different locale.
About my frustration with social media, but also my intention to get offline and start networking in the flesh, in person.
And I think they're both important--over the course of this month I just learned how important it is to utilize social media
while still connecting with people in the flesh.
I was able to meet networks through social media, but able to meet them in the flesh.
Agents; talented, awesome industry people; and I'm so just grateful and honored that I'm attracting really dope, awesome people in my life like you guys.
So moving forward... what have I learned?
Hustling is important online, but it's just as important to hustle in the flesh.
So just put yourself out there. Go to events, go to exhibits, just be outside of your home.
And when you're outside of your home, get off that phone. Okay? Despite this going off.
If you guys haven't watched, watch my vlogs.
I also got to take some me time towards the end of the trip--thank you so much, Liinda, thank you so much Jasmine. I was able to surf.
I've never surfed! I'm going to do it again.
I do snowboard, when I was living out in Vancouver. But snowboarding is a lot different than riding waves that move.
So I'm going to do that again when I get back.
Also, that video that I put out there--you know, my little rant--I also was talking about how I wanted to do a web series.
Help me with this idea!
I want to do a web series--of course, I'm the lead--but it's action. Do you guys have any ideas?
2 months later... A few days; I think it was like, literally 1 or 2 days after that video posted, my good friend Andrea Lewis--
yes, the beautiful, talented Andrea Lewis--she wrote 1 series, 2 episodes, and gave me the script to read over and said, 'is this something that you'd be interested in doing?'
So thank you Andrea so much, just to know that I have friends that are so supportive and angels everywhere, me and her and a bunch of others are going to collaborate on this web series
that we're going to film in August. And I'm going to start raising money, doing a kickstarter, doing that whole campaign in April-May.
Those are exciting projects, web series. It's going to be so dope!
It's Ugly Betty meets Kickass meets... Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
Yeah. And who is your main girl?
But I am going back to Los Angeles. But this time I am going to stay on schedule and still upload.
That's the new challenge for me, to be able to travel and upload at the same time.
So thank you guys so much. Anything is possible with discipline, with awesome work ethic, with intentions.
For me, I have to write my goals down and just focus on that.
And coming back and going hard.
Oh, P.S., I'm also going to audition for Jem and the Holograms.
A lot of you saw my little antics on instagram. You can check it out.
But I posted some photos and a few people were like, 'you need to audition for Jem and the Holograms!'
Now, I was born in 1982. You could do the math.
Was raised on Jem. That's all we sang in daycare, me and Jeigh!
So yeah, I'm going to do that video. I'm going to do a transformation, giving you hologram realness.
And what else? Thank you for bearing with me, thank you for joining me on this next chapter.
And just being down with my whole cray-cray-ness.
Remember to do you, be you, stay true.
Be Shameless.
I forgot my question! My question for you guys!
But what are you guys using social media for? Are you using it to connect with friends? Are you using it to expand your business? Are you using it to meet new people?
I would love to know, comment below.
And maybe even how you think it could help you or your personal or your business--
LILI: Are you using it to do drag?!
Let me know! Comment below!
