Hello. I am here with...
Hello, my name's Elisa. And I'm from... Brazil.
Your sign name is Elisa right? Yes thats correct. Wow Brazil, I would like to know which part of Brazil you're from.
I'm from South of Brazil, this is the sign for my town. Ah okay, and what's the name of this town? Its a long name.
Its Florianópolis. Wow, that's definitely a long name. But the ironic thing is that the town is small. Its funny.
We've been involved with Frontrunners 8, how do you feel about it all? What has made the most impact on you?
There's been a range of topics, most of which I already know of but explained in details, and great discussion.s
But there is one in particular that has stuck with me, it was when we visited Berlin and met Andreas. He mentioned that
in the sign languages of the world, many signs have the alphabets in them. We can actually make the signs natural.
Instead of using the alphabet too much, the signs can be more visual. It was an impact for me because its true.
That's true, so many signs have alphabets. You will see Frontrunners 8 have posted a video about this topic.
In the video we show you examples of signs such as (R)esponsibility, and how to change it to be more visual.
I have to ask since we're both from the southern hemisphere, how do you feel with the opposite climates?
Since it is supposed to be summer right now but instead its winter and its snowing out here! How do you feel about it?
That's true. I've contacted my friends in Brazil to see what it's like over there and they're all out swimming in heat!
It was mind-boggling to realise its so cold right now when I'm used to going to the beach at this time of the year.
Is it the same for you? Yes it definitely is for me, this is the first time we've been in opposite climate with snow in time
for christmas when right now I feel like I am supposed to be under the hot sun by the beach. That's right, many
people have told me, 'Christmas with the sun and swimming? it doesn't go together'. I tell them that its good.
The Europeans are used to having a white Christmas with snow and everything, that's okay but not for me.
We're different. That's true, I've also explained to them how great it is to be in the sun, with some champagne.
But they disagreed and were adamant that you must have snow and to stay inside houses. I definitely prefer the heat.
But this is our first time to experience this to see how it is. I'm wondering, have you been to Australia before?
No I actually haven't. I've met one friend, Rob Roy? You all probably know Rob Roy? Yes that's right, he's from my city.
Right, that's right. He's told me so much about Australia and said that its similar to Brazil. Maybe I'll go one day.
You are welcome to my hometown Perth anytime under the hot sun. You're welcome to Brazil too! See-ya, Bye!
