It is the year 1956, this machine here is very important for italian design, being designed by Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari.
The name of this model is "serie Concorso" but is nicknamed "Diamond", because of its distinctive chassis which resembles the precious stone.
This particular model marks the start of designer Made in Italy coffee machines. Architects and designers work together with the manufacturers now looking for particular and elegant aesthetics.
It was also the beginning of the industrial production of machines which grew in the 60s.
It is clear that the Italian economic growth of the 50s brought to the mass consumption of espresso coffee.
But this moment is also important as the architects involved in the design of these machines, created products always more fascinating and sparkling for the cafes.
