It is a feeling that I think anyone who does volunteer would know.
It's the feeling that you get that's pretty unconditional.
Volunteering is pretty important to me and my family.
We've always been big believers in that concept of it takes a village to raise a child.
And as a family we certainly believe that we want to be a part of our community.
I signed up 28 years ago to volunteer for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon. Then it took
on a life of its own!
I volunteer because giving back to the community is really important, and as well, I feel amazing
when I give back.
I get to choose what I do.
You give back to the community, you feel more a part of your community. I've lived here
all of my life, so, this is my community. I want to make it the best community.
I started when I was a child. My dad got me involved, and instead of doing chores, I could
volunteer, and that's how it started.
There's not always a lot of money to do some of the fantastic things that a community can
do, and without volunteers, we really miss out on those great events.
People that volunteer: my read on that situation is that it's a very rewarding experience.
You can provide assistance to people; and you can watch people blossom as they volunteer, too.
The more you do it, the better you feel. It's like a gift for me to volunteer. I get way
more out of doing things for people than I do receiving.
And that's why she's my inspiration!
You feel that you have purpose, and presence, and you know, an existance of making a difference
in the world. I think that brings a whole lot of hope. So, being a part of volunteering
for me is so fuelling.
Volunteering gives back to you something you can't find anywhere else.
If you want to become part of a community, get to know the people around you? Volunteering
is a fantastic way of getting to know a lot of people.
