welcome to the sierra college library tutorial on locating course text books on
reserve
you'll start at the library's home page at l r c dot sierra college dot e_d_u_
click on the link for the library catalog under find books and videos
once you're in the library catalog click on the course reserve search tab
you'll see you have several options for searching you can search by your
instructor's name the department the name of your course
or the section or CRN
let's go ahead and search by course
so if you're looking for a math textbook you would scroll down
until you found math for example let's look at math twelve college algebra
select your course and then click the search button
this shows there are two different items on reserve for math twelve
say we're looking for the college algebra book by michael sullivan
if you click on the title it will take you to the full record this shows that
we have the ninth edition twenty twelve
the holdings information tells you that we have a copy at both the rocklin
campus and the nevada county campus
both of these are library use only that typically means you can have a two-hour
check out
so what you'll want to be next is copy down the call number here five twelve point
nine sull 2012
and you'll take that information to the circulation desk to request it
they'll get the book for you and check it out to you for two hours
if you're having difficulty locating your textbook by the course reserve search
tab you can always go back to the main search page and do a title search if you
know the title of your textbook
