Okay, the next step will be mulching. You'll like nice straw mulch. This we have is oats.
Oat straw. This we grew ourselves. The straw is basically the stalk of the crop. Oats,
rye, wheat, winter wheat and the stalk last longer in the field. It takes longer to break
down, and it adds a nice layer of insulation on the soil. So, plus then it adds organic
matter to the soil. So you can use your fine straw at garden supply centers. Oat straw,
rye straw, barley straw, wheat straw, probably have taken the crop off and this is really
a by-product of the original crop. So next we are going to show you how and when to fluff
it up and put it out on the field.
