When the Friedrichstadtpalast calls I am there.
In a few minutes a bunch of celebrities will arrive on the red carpet
to do Berlin the honor because the film we are premiereing tonight is called BOXHAGENER PLATZ
and is about the neighborhood
"The world really sucks"
"Disturbances, protests and wars not even stop for socialism."
This ist East Berlin 2010 and I am gonna take you to the year 1968
also East Berlin.
We meet Holger. Holger goes straight into puberty
and not really happy. he is too quiet, too shy - a typical outsider.
He didn´t catch up with the classmates
and even the neighborhood isn´t accepting him.
"Are you stupid or what?" "Holger, Jürgen what is going on?" "This is a kid not a public enemy!"
Tell me somthing about the film. What was the most challenging part
for you?
It was
not really
difficult to play.
I am kind of similar to my character...
Means?
Me? Yes - what kind of man are you?
More quiet like Holge.
I am more an observer.
Holger find his safe zone in his grandmother Otti.
She is the only one who really connects with him and
nana Otti is actually cool. She outlived five husbands
and number six is on his way to heaven.
"How did you get all these new men?" "I also was wondering about that!"
"As if I would know!"
"What´s wrong with him?" "Nothing. He´s dead!"
"Today is the day I can pick up his pension. But I only get the money if he´s alive - you know what I mean!"
"By the way
it´s very good temperated in here!"
I find it very funny that all your husbands just die straight away. What was the most exciting part for you?
For me I was very happy to even play the part.
I am not the youngest one anymore and I didn´t even thought about playing a role like this ever again.
It is just great.
Granny Otti is two-***.
Husband number six lies on the deathbed
She falls in love with someone else again and a very special romance begins.
"I think I am in love."
"You are talking nonsense!" "You shut the *** up!"
Most of the celebrities on that red carpet here tonight like Jürgen Vogel
who also got a part in the movie
of course live in Berlin.
And since the daily topic tonight is Berlin neighborhood I´ll ask him where he lives
and how his neighborhood looks like.
Jürgen you do live in Berlin right? Yes. How is your neighborhood looks like?
Very nice. Typical Berlin. Very good infrastructure.
If you go outside there is this cute bakery, a small kiosk - I have everything I need.
Actually I am from Berlin Lichtenberg and I know the Boxhagener Platz
just from the movie.
Sure I have heard about it but it never was my cup of tea.
Berlin is such a huge city but in the end with many small districts
where you get to know your people
and that´s what I like about Berlin.
"What did you do in West Berlin?" "A christmas tree!"
"All the fir needles are falling down. They are all chiselers in West Berlin."
"Whatch out: now we´ll play a trick on capitalism."
"Looks even better than before!"
As you can see this is such a comedy black as a crow
Dieter Kosslick highly recommended this film
What the dead man Fisch-Winkler and Jürgen Vogel has to do with this movie
I don´t tell. You have to see for yourself.
So check it out and I´ll go back to my neighborhood!
Bye.
