Alright, here's an opportune time to talk about another message about fish conservation.
I've just caught this real small yellow perch. Now, a lot of times what anglers will do when
they catch small fish is they'll simply throw them on the ice, throw them in the bushes,
they think they're useless so their just going to throw them back, they're too small for
them to eat. It's extremely important to put back smaller fish if you're not going to eat
them. Because even though they might not be appealing to you, these are what the bigger
predatory fish, in a water body, like bass, larger perch, trout, pike, walleye will eat.
And those are the fish that you, as an angler, typically want to pursue. So, by putting back
these, you're actually doing a good thing for the water body that you're fishing in.
So I'm going to put this guy back. Let him go and he's either going to turn into a bigger
fish that I'm going to be able to keep and harvest one day, or he's going to provide
a meal for one of the larger fish that I really want to catch when I'm out here today.
