Ladybugs are very beneficial in your garden, they eat aphids and most other pests that
your garden would have. And today I'm going to teach you how to make one that really doesn't
do that. My name is Robert Segundo and we're going to make an origami ladybug. So if you
look down here you can see I already have a red piece of paper, what I'm going to do
is I'm going to take and fold it into a triangle; actually I'm going to pull the sticker of
first. There we go; we don't want to mess up our ladybug with that. So we're going to
fold it into a triangle like so, crease this down real good. Now what I'm going to do is
I'm going to fold this into a diamond shape by bringing these points down, try to keep
that point where it's at, just kind of piecing it back up this way. Now it's going to be
the same thing for the other side, there we go. Now we can take and we can kind of; let's
open this up just a little bit, this ladybugs wings aren't that close to her body, there
we go, something like that ought to do. Now what we're going to do is we're going to make
the head and to do that we're going to flip it over like so, and we're going to fold this
point down like so and we're just going to fold it right back up, there we go. This thick
paper really doesn't want to work so well with me. Flip it back over. Now what we're
going to do is we're going to shape it up just a little bit by taking and doing some
folds here in the wings so fold this corner down like so, and let's do the same thing
on the other side. Let's see, I'm going to try to make it look a little bit even, there
we go. Now we're going to take and just kind of fold the tail under to give it the rounded
body shape, and we're going to kind of crease it just a little bit here to give it that
3-D look; you're going to actually crease the bottom body part a little bit, there we
go. And then we can take our little black marker, we can draw our little dots on our
ladybug and just have fun with it. My name is Robert Segundo and this is your origami
ladybug.
