Hi! I'm Al Navas, the CTO of MaximumPlus Workshops for GooglePlus success. In this video I'd
like to show you how to use branding using Lower Thirds in Google+ hangouts. And this branding
will be not only for your organization, but also for branding of any sponsor that you
may have found for your Events.
The first thing that I will do, for example, is bring in my regular logo that I use in hangouts,
regadless of what type of hangout that I'm running.
And you see this rectangle with some information superimposed, my name, my title, the name
of the company, and the link to the website, in addition to the logo.
The specification for the graphics is really quite simple. We have 640 pixels along the
X-axis, and 360 pixels tall, for a transparent graphics overlay using the PNG format.
PNGs retain full transparency, and so they become the de-facto standard for this type of overlay.
Now that you have that information, I will show you how I can bring on the fly a graphics
overlay that contains the sponsor's logo so you can select the placing of this logo
anywhere within the visible area of the hangout. The only thing you may want to avoid is placing
the logo in such a way that it interferes or in some way obstructs the view of your
own personal logo.
So, how would we go about bringing this logo in? It's really quite simple. I will first
toggle off the Custom Overlay, and then through the Custom Upload button bring a new image into the hangout.
I already have a PNG file saved as the sponsor's logo, I select it, and,
once it's loaded into the hangout, I toggle it ON.
That is how you can do it.
OK, with that as background, please notice how I can select any of these overlays on
the fly, only my name and logo, the one you've already seen, my title, the website URL, and
the logo, any of these can be selected on the fly.
Because this section, because the Hangout Toolbox section is not broadcast from the
hangout, you are safe to come in and change it at any time that you wish.
Enjoy preparing your own Custom Overlays and branding your organization as well as any
sponsors for your Events.
See you next time! Thank you for watching!
