Hello, everyone!Chris again from Excalibur Comics, Cards, and Games here in Shreveport,
Louisiana. Be sure stop by our website www.excaliburccg.com. Check out what's going on. Also, be sure
to subscribe to our new YouTube channel. Of course, you're seeing me here, but in case
you haven't subscribed, it's ExcaliburCCGTV on YouTube, so make sure you subscribe to
that. Big week this week, I got a stack of stuff
I'm gonna talk to you about real quick because these are some things you should know about
and you should start picking up if you haven't already. Of course, I'm gonna start with
some new number ones, so I know you don't have those but that's okay I'm gonna talk
about them right now. First up, were gonna talk about the new Uncanny
X-Men #1 by Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bakalo, Bachalo, however you want to say it,
that is fine. This new series has Cyclops with his own X-team again, galavantin around
the world recruiting brand new mutants that are just manifesting their powers, coming
into their own, dazed and confused as they usually always are, in need of some type of
guidance and direction. Cyclops is wanting to step up to the plate and do that but also,
not only is that happening, but there is now a traitor in the midst, and you will get a
glimpse of who that is in this new first issue. So check out Uncanny X-Men #1, Brian Michael
Bendis, Chris Bachalo. Also out this week is the new Secret Avengers
#1 by Nick Spencer and Luke Ross. Nick Spencer's been around for a while, he's got Morning
Glories from Image Comics, he has Bedlam from Image Comics. He also recently launched the
new Ultimate Comics X-Men series, now he's moving over to writing this new series Secret
Avengers #1. Art by Luke Ross, Luke Ross has been around for a while. He did stuff for
CrossGen, most recently he did stuff for Ultimate Comics Ultimates. Now he's coming on full
time it looks like, the Secret Avengers #1. These guys are doing the doing missions that
are so secret that they don't even know what, what it is themselves. I guess the writing
approach is that each one will know a bit of the, a bit of the mission and not all of
it. So that's what's going on with this new series from Nick Spencer, Luke Ross, Secret
Avengers #1. You're gonna see Hawkeye, you're gonna see the new Nick Fury, you're gonna
see Agent Coulson in here as well. So if you like that type of espionage action-adventure,
check out this new #1, Secret Avengers #1. Next up, from the pages of Justice League
of America, and Birds of Prey, Katana #1. This is written by Ann Nocenti with art by
Alex Sanchez and I had a chance to actually thumb through this. I'm not real familiar
with Katana. I know that she has a magic/mystical soul sword that she fights crime with and
she's just a ninja and all this other fine ninjutsu weird, wizardry stuff that she does.
But this actually looks like a great issue. The art is really, really nice, so check this
out. She's also gonna be in the pages of the new upcoming, Justice League of America.
Which if I'm not mistaken, ships next week. So this is a good prelude I guess you could
say, to that new series. So be sure to check this out. Add it to your pull list as well.
Also out this week, Manhattan Projects #9. You've heard Randy and myself talk about
this just the other, in the last video that we did. Fatale, Manhattan Projects, Saga.
This is a great jumping on point. This is still Jonathan Hickman, Nick Pitarra from
Image Comics. I don't know what's gonna happen this issue, I don't care I'm picking
it up because the story is that good. Every single issue leaves me totally entertained
and wanting the next issue. So make sure you add Manhattan Projects #9 to your pull list.
Check it out, see what you think of it. Next up this week, Fatale #12. Ed Brubaker,
Sean Phillips. I almost said Ed Phillips and Sean Brubaker but I didn't. Anyway, it's
come to my attention that you should check this out because you don't have to know
the history of the rest of this series. This issue and the next several issues that are
coming are done in one stories, so they are single issue stories that you can jump on
board. Check them out and see what Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips are doing with Fatale from
Image Comics. Next up on my list, The Walking Dead #107.
Look, this book is still as great as it was and everything changed with issue #100. This
new threat and menace that they face in the character of Negan, in The Walking Dead universe,
is crazy, sick, crazy, psycho. I have no idea how this is gonna pan out and I wanna just
find out with every issue that comes out. I wanna see what's going to happen with
the next issue. Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, creative team that's been on this series
for a long time now, I mean years now. This, uh, this series is still as great as it always
has been and you sh- you should have this on your pull list. If you don't have this
on your pull list, get it on your pull list. Check it out, if you can start from issue
#100 great, if not catch up on the trades, find out what's going on. This series should
be on your pull list every month so check out Walking Dead #107.
Hey, how about a free comic this week? Cyberforce #3 hit shelf, hits the shelves this week.
This is uh, Marc Silvestri, Koi Pham, revamping, re- bringing back the old Cyberforce. In case
you didn't know or hear about , this was a Kickstarter project that was on Kickstarter.com
that they were able to get funded and bring it forward and they wanted to be able to give
Cyberforce for free to people and this is a the culmination of that project . The fund
raising, the work, everything. Issue # 3 is in the store this week so check it out. Get
yourself a free comic book while you're here.
Last for this week, is Batman #17. This concludes the latest story line that's been going
throughout all the Batman titles, "Death of the Family". Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo,
have been drawing this writing this, it's been fantastic. This issue reveals what's
underneath the collage/lid that The Joker had in the previous issue. So get on board.
If you're not on Batman, I don't know why you're not on Batman. Scott Snyder and
Greg Capullo, from issue #1 have been rocking this series. It's been some of the best
Batman stories that I've read in a long time. And Greg Capullo on the art is fantastic.
I haven't seen an artist match up with a character like this and just own it like he
has. I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. This is a must read series, it's,
for me it's easily the best series that DC is putting out, but that's just me. You
may have a different opinion but still you should checking this out
Also if you're behind on your Batman reading, you need to check out the new "Batman: Night
of the Owls" hardcover that just came out this week as well. This is the second story
line that ran through the majority of the, of the Batman titles as well as tie in issues.
And this is the story, uh, this takes place after the Court of Owls now their wanting
some retribution for what's been going on and they decide to target Gotham. Great story,
great series, great art, and everything is collected here including the Batman Annual
which has a special story about Mr. Freeze that is written by Scott Snyder and art by
Jason Fabok, fibach...pronounce it however you want to, anyway. Great collection here,
great stories, you should check it out That's it for this week, come by the comic
shop, Say hi, check us out, check us out on twitter, check us out on Facebook, go by the
