Hi! My name is Elton Hall and I'm from Texas State Optical in Austin, Texas. I’m here
on behalf of Expert Village, and I'm going to show you how to insert and remove contact
lenses. If you're having problems with the contact lens coming off the eye when you first
put the contact lens on. What happens is if you blink too soon, the contact lens hasn't
settled fully on the eye. What’s' going to happen is it's going to have an air bubble,
an air pocket, directly under the contact lens when you put it on. What you want to
try to do is when you first insert the contact lens, make sure that you can move the contact.
You can move it with your finger. Move the contact lens around a little bit, break some
of the air from under the contact lens. You can actually pull your eyelids over the contact
lens just like that, close the eye, and pat it just like that. That's probably the easiest
way to make sure that the contact lens is on fully. Make sure that you look in the mirror
at all times. You can actually see the air bubble under the contact lens itself. As you
move the contact lens, it'll come out more, more, and more. That way you can close your
eye and pat that air bubble out. Some people take the contact lens and they move it to
the side of the eye. You look away from it. You look over here, the contact lens is going
to move, and then move it back again. Then close your eye and pat it out just like that.
