Today on this 2010 Toyota RAV4 we are going to install part 13509 from Curt. The first
thing you need to do is get on the driver side frame rail and remove the tie down hook
right here. That part will stay off. There is one more hole we have to uncover and it
is covered up by this piece of tape right here. Peel that off and that will make our
frame rail ready to go. Now lets go over to the passenger side and do the same thing over
there. There will be two holes that we have to uncover. At this point we can start installing
the hitch. It is a good idea to have an extra set of hands with this because it is kind
of awkward to hold the hitch up and thread the bolts in at the same time. We will just
hold it up and thread it in. When you install the bolt we are going to use obviously the
bolt and a conical tooth washer. 00:47 We have got our bolt started the next thing
we will do is center the hitch the best we can and once you have it the way you want
it snug down the bolts. Now that we have got the bolts snugged down lets torque them down
as specified in the instructions. Now that we have got our vehicle off the lift we will
give you a couple of measurements. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground
on this particular vehicle is 13 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest
point out where the spare tire is is going to be about nine inches. There you have it
for part number 13509 on this 2010 Toyota RAV4.
