I thought against San Bernidino, we put about 36 good minutes together. We just couldn't
finish it off. And then San Diego was a good response. We responded real well and got a
nice double digit victory. We had good performances from Udun Osakue, Nefi Perdomo and generally
a good team performance. Brandon Tatum was phenomenal on the glass.
Winning against San Diego was big for us because obviously the loss against San Bernidino we
had a tough fight and bouncing back with a win is always something that Coach Trev preaches
to us. And your back is always against wall after you take a loss. Bouncing back against
San Diego was definitely key for us moving us forward into this week.
Shortened up a little bit this week. Just to try and get cleaner. I think we were running
too long, we were working too much on things that weren't important so we tightened things
up. And really tried to go shorter but sharper and did some more skill development after
practice. So, I was real pleased with practice all week.
Practice has been going pretty good. I think Coach is happy with us. He told us just to
work hard, we've been rebounding really well so I think that's our key emphasis right now.
Work on the glass and make sure we get back on defense but I know we've been working extremely
hard.
Tough games ahead, I know Monterey just beat Chico at Chico which I know rarely happens
so they're playing really well and East Bay's much improved so this is a tough weekend and
a very important weekend for us to conclude the first half of the season. If we can do
our business and win a couple games, we'd put ourselves in a really good spot. But right
now all we're doing is focusing on Monterey.
It's extremely important. Everybody in the conference right now is kind of bundled up
in the middle of the pack and if we could get a sweep this weekend, that'd be incredibly
big for the rest of the season. Especially closing out the first half of the conference.
I'm not even worried about Chico/Stani. In fact, I'm not even worried about East Bay.
What I'm worried about is Monterey and Monterey is a phenomenal team. And once we finish off
that game, then I'll turn the page and we'll open up East Bay. But that Stani/Chico road
trip is miles away. So I'm not even worried about that right now, we're just trying to
get better and focus on the task at hand. Because anybody can beat you at any moment.
