Some of you may or may not know what I am talking about
for correcting vision. But apparently, there are these exercises you can do that will improve your vision
whether you have nearsightedness (that you can't see very far)... you need glasses
astigmatism, or you are getting to the age when you are pushing the menus back really far to see them clearer
Apparently these exercises, some call them eyerobics, Dr. Bates method, eye exercise, are exercises that are apparently suppose to improve vision when practiced.
Do they work? I guess there is only one way to find out...
But before we try it, I want to share with you a bit of my story.
and why I am interested in this.
I went and got iLASIK surgery done in September, so it has been 9 months now.
After my 1 month check-up, my eyes were -.25 D.
After my 3 month check up, my eyes were -.50 D.
At my 6 month check-up, my eyes were -.75 in my left eye and -.5 in my right eye.
I have astigmatism in my left eye, always have... before and after surgery... and still do
And the plan is that in September, I will be going back for my post-operation year check-up.
What the original plan was for when I go back in September was to go back and see if my vision has stabilized
So either it is going to get worse and continue to regress or plateau and if it does plateau we are suppose to go back in for a new surgery,
a little touch-up, that's a nice little word for them ripping your eye open and burning it.
After my first surgery, I have had A LOT of complications... really bad (severe) dryness. I see halos on things.
Like when I go outside at nights, things glow. If somebody has a white name tag on a black shirt, it glows! And there are no lights on it.
Since surgery, my eyes have been really messed up.
I am scared that if I go back for surgery, the risks are only going to get worse. I know of people who have gone back
Once you go back for a touch-up, they rip open the same flap they cut from before (because it never re-attaches)
and then they burn your eye, then put the flap back. Some people grow (epithelial ingrowth) tissue on the
and I don't know if it can grow into your vision (I believe it can), but it gets really bad. That is a side-effect of touch-ups.
So I know of people who have gone back, who had surgery and their vision regressed. They went for a touch-up surgery and now they can't night drive
because the halos are so bad. I really don't want to go and I was looking for an alternative to going back for LASIK.
And this is when I stumbled upon a video called ***OPTICIANS*** will hate this video. (ooops)
I will post a little youtube link in my video description :). Check it out if you are curious.
I believe I was in the middle of doing some studying and stuff and I thought anything is more interesting than doing homework and thought this looks a little interesting, this video.
So I thought I would watch it. When I watched it, this lady claimed that by doing eye exercises, she reduced her prescription
She even went to the optometrist. She reduced her prescription by two diopters.
I didn't know if she was crazy or if she was onto something, but I was super super desperate by this time and I did not want to go back for LASIK.
I was wanting to find an alternative to correct my vision. I mean, I wanted to go do LASIK if it was going to correct my vision...
but I did not want to take the risk again. I was torn and I was so happy I fell upon this video.
So this got me really curious to see if there was other people who have tried this, who have done these exercises
and if it worked for them. I went on youtube, and searched all around, and all I found were people who have already done it...
they had a lot of videos saying, "Hey, I did exercises and they worked for me...", but I was really curious about the progress
and how did they work, how long did it take and all of that. So, like I said, I am going to try this.
As I do this, I will be having a little video "journal" so every day I want to have a little clips saying
how is everything feeling... how is my vision changing... what am I noticing... what is going on with my eyes...
So I hope that if you are interested in this, whether you have glasses or not, that you would join me by watching my other videos
and seeing how this works as I try to correct my vision doing eye exercises.
