Hi, I'm Tristan McCauley, from Lucky 7 Tattoo, and I'm here to show you, how to change a
belly button ring. The first thing you want to do, is make sure that your belly button
ring is totally healed, before you try to remove it. Taking it out before it's healed,
can lead to irritation. It can cause trauma around the area, and can lead to an infection.
Second thing you want to make sure of, is the place you get the jewelry from, make sure
it's pre-sterilized, and prepackaged. This helps to avoid any kind of complications,
from cross contamination to possible infection. It's just the best to play it safe about doing
that. The first thing you want to do, is unscrew the top of the jewelry. Just turn it counterclockwise.
Take the bead off, and then push the jewelry out from the top. Just pull it out, like that.
Then, you want to unscrew the ball from the second piece of jewelry, and with your thumb
and forefinger, at the top of the area, on either side, you just push from the bottom.
That should slide right into place. This may take a few times, especially if you're doing
it yourself. It's kind of irritating, it may get a little frustrating, but don't give up.
It's pretty easy to do. Then, you want to screw the ball in the top, turning it clockwise,
and grab it on the sides, like this, and push it down, just so it will sit right, and that
is how you change a piece of belly jewelry.
