In cultural news, an organization in Lebanon promotes the Arabic language to the youth
of the country. Feil Amer (Act Now) has launched the campaign, “You speak from the East,
and he replies from the West.” The objective of the group is to encourage young people
to embrace Arabic by connecting it to modern art and culture. Feil Amer held a festival
in Beirut celebrating and raising awareness of the language. It featured dance and theater
performances, films, puppet shows, poetry readings, and various activities. Professor
Mohamed Said, a language expert from the School of Oriental and African Studies of London,
United Kingdom said, “Classical Arabic is the language of communication, literature,
science, philosophy, the arts – it is something that unites the Arab world.” Our thankfulness,
Feil Amer, for your dedication to preserving Arabic in Lebanon. May all languages be cherished
as an important part of our heritage
