Chatzi is a two year old rescue Bengal, and
ever since we got him, he's been fascinated
by water. We'd heard that Bengals are not
afraid of water like domestic cats, so we
ran a bath for him!
It's not that he's desperately thirsty, as
there are 4 or 5 bowls of water around the
house, he just loves interesting water!
As you can see, he's a noisy little *** that
loves the sound of his own voice, and drinking
is not going to stop him!
the water gets deeper, and he's not at all
bothered that the water goes over his paws
Theres just no end to how weird his drinking
exploits get!
we wondered how deep the water could get before
he'd have enough of water time, although he
seemed to enjoy the spashing water less. You
can see him turning his ears away to stop
stray splashes going in, and then you see
the now famous Bengal behavour of scraping
away at the surface of the water, instinctive
wild cat behaviour to clear away any leaves
or other debris.
And there he stays, up to his heels in cold
water, happily drinking away.
We even put a rubber duckie to see if this
was play behaviour, but he seemed very intent
on just drinking until the water went away,
and then he wanted playtime!
This is serious stuff - he's focussed, and
not going to be distracted by anything! oh!
Shiny thing!
Bath time's over and playtime starts.
