Hi, Anthony here, and today I'm going to talk to you about how to create
good content marketing.
The first thing I want to say about content marketing is that good content
marketing is creating lots of content that is in line with your core brand
messages, it aligns to your products, and most importantly it adds value to
your target market audience. So if you are not creating content of good
value, does not serve the specific audience that you're targeting, and does
not align to your products, then there is very little reason to make that
content. The hope that it might go viral and it might attract a whole lot
of people might be great for stats, but it doesn't help you as a small
business person. That's the first thing to remember about content
marketing.
The second thing I want to say about content marketing is it really takes
on this particular shape of a curve. Now if you think about adding value to
your target market, such as small business owners or medium-size
businesses, you can create content that's either low value or high value.
The people who are watching it, your audience, are thinking that might be
great. That guy's adding lots of value to someone else. They may not yet be
internalizing and thinking that this content is useful to you.
As time moves on, you're going to move through the product lifecycle that
most marketers know, which is the product lifecycle where you have the
early adopters, the early majority, the late majority, and then the
laggards. What's happening is as your content moves down this curve, at
some stage they're going to make a decision to buy. You try to educate and
motivate those people toward a buying decision.
What will happen is over time, as they move through, hopefully you've got
the early adopters onboard and you're generating great results, and then
your credibility is going higher. This curve is actually then starting to
kick up and get steeper. As you go through the product lifecycle, hopefully
you're going to have more and more people adopt your product. You need to
continually make good quality content that is specifically targeted at your
target audience.
One more tip before I go. You really need to be on brand message. I want
you to think of five themes that your brand is all about. I'm in local
business video marketing, and I want to communicate to you about video
production, whether it be advertising strategy, local business marketing,
video distribution, and then video results and stats. They're the key
messages and themes that I want to talk to you about.
Now if I go off-brand and I start talking about my family trip to New
Zealand or something, that might be content, but it's not relevant to you.
If you have your five themes, you'll know whether you're producing content
that's on brand, on message or if you going off topic. That's an important
thing to think about when you're creating content for your video marketing
program.
Anyway, I hope that's been of some help. Please leave me a comment down
below if that's been good for you, or if you like this video, give me a
thumbs up, please. I'll talk to you soon. Okay. Bye, now.
