This is the entrance to the Thai Silk pavilion.
The star attraction at a recent agricultural field day.
The field day was help at the university of Ubon Ratchatami, a city about 100 kilometers
from our village.
And it was an extremely popular exhibition.
Very popular with both Thais and tourists.
Silk cocoons as you can see here were on display as were all parts of the Thai silk process.
Amnuai was busy all day.
Because she and her team at Thai Silk Magic were invited to give demonstrations on all
sorts of things to do with Thai silk.
And in particular, natural dye colour techniques that you can see her doing there.
Many questions were asked of her.
But she was also very careful.
Sure to be helpful but not to give away some of her grandma's secrets that she wants to
keep for Thai Silk Magic.
Very satisfying for her.
We also took some of our village school children.
And here you can see them starting to extract the silk from the cocoons.
They were very proud to be able to show off their skills.
And also to appear on local TV. That gave them quite a thrill.
And this is the Golden Peacock.
The symbol of the highest possible quality of Thai silk.
And we are very proud to have this quality standard for all our Thai silk creations.
