In this presentation, we are going to see how to automatically indicate which fields are mandatory in the web forms of our website
To illustrate this, we are going to use the contact form of our website
The web form of our example contains 3 mandatory fields that visitors need to complete
name, email and message
But in our web page nothing clearly indicates that these 3 fields are mandatory
To do so, we first need to switch to our theme
From there, we click a form field and from the CSS editor treeview we select the element Suffix located in the Label Required structure
Then we activate the Font tab and in the text area named Content, we enter a star character
If the page preview does not immediatly reflects your change, just click on the reload button to refresh the page
Now we can see in our form that every mandatory fields have a label ending with a star character
And we can choose a color, like for example a red one, to enhance the visibility of our mandatory fields
Congratulations. You have learned how to display to your visitors which fields of your web forms are the ones mandatory
