Hi everybody, Bohus here for
FotodioxPro.com. Thanks for watching this video and for being part of the launch
of our new
WonderPana FreeArc system. It's a filter mounting system for super wide and ultra
wide-angle lenses
that let you rotate square filters to whatever angle you like.
We've talked a lot about the actual mount. In this video we're going to take a
closer look at the filters themselves.
I'll also be pointing you to exactly where you can get the best deal
on getting a bundle of all of this stuff for your lens. But first, let's talk
about the filters that you'll be attaching to your lens.
So let's mount the FreeArc first. I'm going to be using for this demonstration
a Rokinon 14 mm that I have attached to my Canon
T3i, but this is exactly the same for the Nikon 14-24,
really it's the same for all of the FreeArcs. Let's get the lens off.
We'll grab the locking ring, slip that
on the Rokinon lens, and then we just
twist this locking ring a bit, remember the FreeArc is all metal
so it's great for taking on location with you. Okay, so we've got the Wonder
Pana Core
mounted to our camera's lens. Let's take a look at some of the
filters we've got. Now, I'm holding in my hand
a set of ND filters for these giant lenses,
and we've got ND 4, 8, 16 and 32.
They each come in one of these nice soft-lined cases
and here's what 145 millimeters of ND4 looks like.
They're big, the edge is made of metal,
the filter's made out of glass and you just screw it on
thusly. You'll notice that there are these little posts on there to make it
easier to handle
such a large filter, and now the filter is this size to cover all of that Vista
that these ultra wide and super wide angle lenses get, so
you've got a nice ND4, drop the overall brightness, make sky look a
little bit better,
and your back in clover with four
ND filters that you can attach to one of these lenses. Let's take a look
and see what else we got.
Now we are really proud of this one. This is a circular polarizer at 145
millimeters. They said it couldn't be done,
but here it is: 145 millimeters of circular polarizer.
Actualy, if you look around online you'll find plenty of reviews
of folks who love the circular polarizer with the WonderPana system
because all of a sudden those ultra wide-angle lenses have the power of a
CPL,
so you can dial out reflections and haze, and if you're looking at clouds you can make
clouds look better, you can cut reflections in glass--
super utilitarian, super useful. Use these little posts to dial in exactly how much
polarization you need to get the perfect picture
with your ultra wide-angle lens. Now this guy? UV haze filter.
I use one of these full time on my lens just to protect the lens.
I've actually recently used this on a shoot where I had the WonderPana
on a camera mounted on a car. So you can imagine
I really wanted to keep the lens safe. The UV haze filter does just that.
The advanced kit also includes this square filter holder and you'll notice
it comes in its own little fitted case, and this is how we're able to use
rectangular filters
with the WonderPana FreeArc.
So we've got the
WP 66 mounted on the FreeArc and as you can see
that's going to let us rotate square filters to whatever angle.
We've got four square filters for the WonderPana FreeArc system,
we've got a 0.6 and 0.9 gradient ND filter
and those come in both a soft and hard edged version.
So you just pick exactly what you need. The filters come in these
fitted cases, zippered cases to keep them clean and safe.
These are some of the longest filters in the industry
and you can see where the advantage is. When it's nice and long like this
you can put the horizon of the effect wherever you need it to be
in your picture. So let's mount this guy.
Another special feature of the WonderPana system is you can have
two square filters installed at the same time or one square and one round
and once you've got it in there put it at whatever angle you need
to have the perfect gradient for the perfect picture.
Okay, so that was the overview of the various filters we have available
for the WonderPana FreeArc, and it's a big selection as you can see.
