Hi! Starting another I Could Kill For Dessert!
and on today’s show I am going to make a Black Forest Whoopie Pie
and a beer cocktail that I am sure that your husband or anyone there in your house will love!
Children’s food and adult’s drink?
To make the whoopie pie I am going to start by making the filling
because we will need to take it to the fridge.
Here’s the deal, it’s 250 grams of mascarpone and 2 tbsp of caster sugar and i will mix it a little.
You can kill someone with it... eventually...
After a few technical problems we had here with our camera,
"Use a mixer. It's safer!"
the cream is ready, it's already in the fridge
"After it's ready, one hour in the fridge!"
I'm going to leave it there for a little while...
I will start with chopping the cherrys to put them on the dough.
Every husband should be afraid of a woman who has a knife like this...
I am...
I am going to leave the trays already prepared for use.
I will grease them with butter and powder them with cocoa powder
because we are making chocolate whoopie pie.
If you don’t have a tray like this in your home don’t worry,
you can use a regular tray,
use baking parchment and make little circles just like we did on the “Hapilly Married” show.
It’s the same thing. We will need two pieces to make a whoopie pie.
Now, I will get a little cocoa powder to powder every tray.
If you are using baking parchment,
there’s no need to grease or powder anything.
Ok, here it’s ready.
Now I am going to make the whoopie pie dough.
So, the dough is very simple:
first I’m going to start with the butter,
the butter is already soft and has no salt in it.
All the ingredients are on the website,
the complete recipe is there so no need to worry.
All you have to do is go there, access www.icouldkillfordessert.com.br.
The sugar.
It’s brown sugar,
and then all you do is mix them together until fluffy.
Look, here it’s already fluffy.
Now I’m going to add an egg,
the vanilla and I am going to mix it a little more.
Here it’s done, now i’m going to sift the flour inside the bowl,
I’m going to add half of the milk and I will mix a little bit more.
Now im going to add the 100% cocoa powder, you have to sift it too.
Why do you have to sift everything, all the time?
Why can’t it come already sifted?
First it’s like this, the cocoa for instance,
you see, there are a few lumps, so if we throw these lumps straight here,
then what happens?
It’s going to the mixer and it will become a dough.
And it will be lumpry!
“Lumpry"?
Lum... Lump...Lumpr... Lumpy!
It will be lumpy... The flour...
will be lumpy, and it can’t be!
And the flour we always sift so it can be lighter,
the more you sift your flour, the lighter your dough gets.
There are people who are so crazy that they sift their flour 3 times!
Ok, now the other half of the milk and I am going to add the yogurt
a little pich of salt and I will mix it a little more...
"Baking Powder"
Ok, the dough is ready here.
Now I’m going to add the chopped cherries,
then i’ll mix it a little and put them on the tray.
So the trays are ready and I am going to take them to the oven
that is already preheated to 180C for 15 minutes more or less.
To fill the whoopie pie first you get one piece of it,
then a little of that mascarpone cream that almost killed all of our camera men,
put it here, then I’m going to chop some more cherries on top...
A little flourish...
A little flourish is always welcome...
... then here it goes the other part of the whoopie pie.
Now a little powder sugar rain on top...
Oh, isn’t it a happy thing?
Looks like Christmas!
Hum... Christmas where?
In São Paulo, in the tropics?
And It’s ready!
The whoopie pies look lovely and now we will make the drink!
Well folks, I am very happy because I made this drink up.
So I hope you enjoy it, and you husbands as well,
your wifes, companions, everyone, oh well...
Shall we?!
Here’s the deal: orange peels, it’s not lime, it’s orange!
Then, orange juice, grated ginger, one shot of the best of the party...
Whisky...
Good then, complete it with wheat beer.
It can be lemon grass beer too that I really like to use too.
But this one here is more full bodied...
Children’s food and adults’ drink?
And it’s ready!
Wanna try it?
Wow, this one deserves a little breeze...
And this was another show, the whoopie pie are delicious!
The drink is wonderful and I hope you enjoy it!
And that’s right, children’s food and adult’s drink!
In another 15 days you’ll have another I Could Kill For Dessert, and you?
