What are we going to fill all that airtime with?
This is Buzz60, I'm Jay DeDapper
When you know it’s going to be a long night before the networks can report the only news
anyone cares about – who won – you can bet the coverage will turn into a video game.
Led, of course, by CNN which faced a difficult task after it’s 2008 coverage.
“All this technology, I’m being beamed to you like it’s Star Wars.”
“Yeah that’s what it looks like here, like you were beamed down like in Star Trek,
that’s what it looks like right here.”
How do you top beaming people up? How about a holodeck? Tom Foreman used it to travel
to the Senate chamber and then into a catering hall with a 3D U.S. map rug.
But don’t count MSNBC out. They’ve got an ice rink for God’s sake! And a sense
of humor about all the gee-*** gadgets they hauled out for one night only.
“I just want to point out for the record, for America, to notice that that all just
worked – the whole thing with the pointy and the slidey on the maps – there was nothing
wrong there. Astonishing.” “Hey come on, Rachel, this is our third
election we’re getting it right. The toys change every time and I’m always
the one that breaks them so I was just very impressed.”
And whither Fox? Bret Baer was pretty excited about having a TV in the elevator and Karl
Rove got to play with a tablet computer, but let’s be honest. Fox doesn’t really do
technology. But Fox does do legs.
“Direction of the country…are we on the right track or the wrong track.”
Hey, there’s a reason they’re number one.
