Hello and welcome to Bradford College learning resource centre.
How can I help you?
I have to do research for a project.
I need a computer so that I can use Google.
The computers are right over there.
Would you like me to show you the library databases?
What is that? Is it like Google?
Databases are online collections of newspaper, magazine and journal articles.
Most of which can not be found on Google.
If it is not Google why would I want to use it?
The Library pays money so that you can have access to these scholarly resources,
that can not be found on Google.
I don't care.
If you use sources from Google that are not scholarly or authoritative,
your tutor will mark down your project.
I really don't care, and I am bored now.
Library databases can be accessed from your home computer,
with your College username and password.
And include hundreds of scholarly journals.
I do not care about any of that.
I want to use Google.
Google is easy.
Might I ask why you are reluctant to even look at the databases?
Stop going on about databases.
I am not interested. Do I look interested?
If you use databases you will get a better mark for your project.
Ok then.
I will still use Google,
but I will tell the tutor I found the information on the databases.
That will not work.
Because you will have to properly site the sources in your bibliography.
But good luck with your project anyway!
