How to spread a disease. There are many ways to spread a disease. The first way we will
be talking about is airborne spread diseases. Airborne diseases are spread through the air
so examples of diseases being transmitted through the air is whooping cough, smallpox.
and measles. Another way to spread a disease is waterborne. Waterborne means to be spread
or carried through the water. Some examples of waterborne diseases are cholera and dysentery.
Foodborne spread diseases are in the consumption of contaminated food, so eating any food has
been contaminated any way can increase your chance of getting a disease such as E.coli
and Hepatitis A. Direct contact is when physical contact reaches between the infected and non-infected.
A possible to get a disease could be spread would be if someone that was infected touched
someone else without the infection. An example of a direct contact disease is pink eye. Indirect
contact is when there is no human-to-human contact, but spread from either (inaudible)
or contaminated surfaces. So if someone touched a door *** while sick or infected and someone
not infected touched the same thing, that would be indirect contact. An example of a
disease spread through indirect contact is influenza. A vector is a disease spread by
an animal or organism that transmits the infection or the disease. Some vectors include ticks,
mosquitoes, and fleas. An example of a vector spread disease is Lyme disease. Made by AP,
AM, CS, and GS.
