Everyone is going to see this episode right before release.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z has actually been in development for about 2 years. So, Inafune-san, how were those two years for you?
You know, I wasn't too worried, but I think you all were really worried about how things would turn out.
I mean, you dealt mainly with internally developed titles, but now you're dealing with an overseas studio
and other external people like us. I really felt that apprehension at the start.
But I didn't feel that at all toward the end of development. How we worked things out between us changed.
Yeah. You said a while back that things don't come together until the very end, and that's exactly what happened.
It's done now, though, and it seems to be well received.
The final game is very different that what we saw in the alpha and beta development milestones.
The core ideas of what we're trying to express has stayed the same, but the actual game and how it feels is totally different than it did earlier.
Looking back, you wonder, "Does it really mean anything?"
But that overseas development style really does mean something.
So other overseas development is like that too.
Yeah. That's what it is. All the projects I know are like that. Just some are more like that than others.
Most developers are like that. Spark is like that too.
So I was probably more at ease than you probably were, but it's not like I didn't have any worries at all.
And through all that, the final game fits the original concept perfectly and is a fun action game.
Players can experience it for themselves soon. We've been waiting for the day that we can finally release it!
Yeah, I really want people to try it out. Your impression changes completely once you actually play it.
Yeah.
And we can say with confindence that Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is a solid action game.
Inafune-san, you came up with the concept, and we all have been working to make that game a reality.
But the reason we have been involved is to make sure it's a fun action game. A solid action game.
And I think that feeling is there in the game.
Ninja Gaiden is know for it's long history of challenging gameplay, and Yaiba has a very difficult mode as well.
Extremely difficult. If you think you have action game skills, you definitely need to check it out .
When proposing this concept, part of me really wanted to make a ninja that could top Ryu Hayabusa.
Doing that within Ryu Hayabusa's own world was a pretty reckless thing to pitch.
But we made Yaiba - this character that I personally really like - and Spark helped to bring him to life.
It was a dream of mine to make this kind of game and create this character.
I'm thrilled that we were able to do that, and do it well.
The duel with Ryu Hayabusa is in there too. It's a lot of fun, and I think a lot of fans are looking forward to that fight.
They're probably wondering how well they can fight when Ryu Hayabusa is the opponent.
Yeah, they're always using Ryu Hayabusa, right? It's interesting to play the other side, and it's a lot of fun as a challenging fight on its own.
I hope people who used to play action games but maybe haven't played them recently come back and try Yaiba.
It feels old-school, and will make you realize why you liked action games before.
I hope a lot of people pick it up, try it, and give it a chance.
