JAMES MENY: Okay so let's talk about terminology, some of the common terms that you're going
to hear on voice lessons, probably the most common are two or three different terms which
are diction, which means the pronunciation of a particular word of vowel or consonant,
support which they are referring to the breathing, the type of breathing that you're going to
do to sustain that particular note. Pitch for vowel, or consonant or whatever that is
that you're trying to phonate out. And the other one that you're going to hear is passaggio,
which is the Italian word for passage, the passage between one quality of voice to another
quality of voice.
