Hello, this is Ari :).
Today’s main star will be highly requested Jibanyan from Yo-kai Watch animation!
Jibanyan became a ghost cat after he died as he had a deep sorrow from the car accident.
He is a ghost from ‘Pretty Class Cat Yo-Kai’, and his special attack is ‘Paws of Fury’.
He also has a cute way of talking such as adding ‘~nyan’ at the end of words, and his favorite treat is Choco bars.
Maybe it’s because I’m raising cats, I think he’s a really cute and lovable character.
Jibanyan also has great popularity to children! I will make him into a character lunch box.
Then let’s start today’s creative and fun cooking! Zoom!
Today’s ingredients!
Jibanyan is the main star, but I will be also making Whisper, the Yo-Kai butler, and Komasan as well.
There are many Yo-Kais, but I really like Komasan. Hehe. I like his naivety~
First prepare cooked white rice,
Seaweed for kimbap,
Cheese (in white and yellow),
Ham slices,
Boiled egg,
And you guys remember this rice seasoning powder for coloring, right?
Red is for Jibanyan and blue is for Komasan. You can also mix ketchup or artificial crab meat on the rice instead of this red rice seasoning.
I will use this rice seasoning (furikake) before it expires. (The name of this product is ‘Decofuri’.)
The lunch box which will be used today
Plastic wrap and sanitary gloves are must.
Spatula, mixing bowl
Let’s start!
Step 1 – Shaping faces of Jibanyan and Komasan
First, we will be adding color to Jibanyan’s face. Mix in red furikake into cooked rice.
Place the colored rice on the plastic wrap. Cover Jibanyan’s face with the wrap to shape.
We should also make the ears too, right?
I cut sliced ham to make the inner ear parts. Jibanyan’s charming point is his chipped left ear.
I will also shape Komasan’s face. I measured an equal number of grams used for Jibanyan’s face (It’s about 75g for each face).
Komasan’s face shape is different from Jibanyan’s. His face shape is oval shaped and the chin part is slightly concaved.
I’m going to add blue color to make the blue horns he has on his head.
The inner ear parts were made by flattening the rice before attaching. (You can also use a blue food coloring to achieve the color.)
Step 2 – Making eyes, nose, and mouth Now, let’s add the details of their faces.
I’ve cut the white cheese by following the lines of the image and placed it on the face.
I used a nozzle to stamp out the eyes. Use yellow cheese for this.
Komasan’s eyes are like his face shape. I’ve gently pressed on the straws to stamp out his eye shapes.
I tried to think little deeper. I realized that you can also achieve pretty neat circles if you press to stamp with a bit of force.
I just cut out Komasan’s eyes with scissors.
I also used sanitized food cutting knife to trace the shape of Jibanyan’s mouth.
Step 3 – Making Whisper Now let’s make Whisper. I also used to same way to cut the seaweed and cheese.
Now let’s make Whisper. I also used to same way to cut the seaweed and cheese.
Yes, it’s time to give life!
Let’s give life to Jibanyan, Komasan, Whisper, and also decorate the lunch box.
Decoration ingredients are up to your choice.
I’ve prepared lettuce, blanched broccoli, sausage, cherry tomatoes, and flower shaped carrots for decoration.
Step 4 – Decorating lunch box I placed lettuce on the bottom~ Now put faces and ears on top.
You can place broccoli or other decorating ingredients beneath the ears.
The boiled egg is going to be Whisper. Hehe. I carefully snipped the top to lift and shape his head part.
Decorate with the ingredients in empty spaces!
Let’s give life to this lunch box♥
Use carrot bits for nose!
Tada~ Jibanyan Lunch Box is completed!
As the character lunch box gives more depth to the characters, it seems as if they are alive.
And this is not just for one person, but for sharing, so how proud one would feel after making this… and how happy the person who receives this, right?
Sigh~ Since I don’t have anyone to give this to, I will eat them all by myself.
Oh, this is really too cute to eat.
It tastes like ham, and cheese~
Meringue is also good at ‘Paws of Fury’.
When I walk around and he’s bored, he jumps to gently tap my leg.
Meringue, do you want to show them your ‘paws of fury’?
Nyanyanyanyan! Special attack, paws of fury! Nyanyanyanyan!
I thought this would take long as I made three characters, but it took quicker than I’ve expected.
I think this character lunch box is easy to make. You guys will be also able to make this without a hassle.
Well, how was Jibanyan Lunchbox I’ve made today?
