Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will take you through
the procedures for cutting sheet metal on a squaring shear. The first thing you need
to do is mark your material at your desired measurement. Next you need to place your material
on your squaring shear along the edge guide and you can go ahead and slide that into place
up to where it will be cut off. The next thing that you want to check is to see if there
is anything in the way of the foot pedal here. If there is, you would only be able to get
about half way through your cut and then have to restart it and that could damage or mess
up your piece. The next thing that I like to do is make sure that my piece is lined
up where it should be. As I make my cut, I will hold the edge of it making sure not to
get your fingers in the cut. This does have a built in clamp but I will still hold the
end of it and with one firm motion, you want to make your cut.
