Hey guys, Reda Lagrana with you today making for you this video tutorial on which I will
show and guide you on how to integrate aweber form to genesis eNews extended plugin on WordPress.
Here’s the final result that you should be expecting if you follow my step by step
video tutorial. So let’s get started! First things first, you need to login into
your Dashboard in your WordPress website. Add a new plugin by hovering over plugins.
Type in the search bar, “Genesis eNews” and hit enter.
Click on Install now, then “Ok” and Activate the plugin.
Then you should go over to your Widgets by hovering over “Appearance” and then click
on “Widgets”. Open your Primary Sidebar or Right/Left Sidebar,
whatever side bar name you have in your website. Then search for “Genesis eNews Extended”
widget and drag and drop it over your sidebar.
Enter the Title of your form. The title will be display at the top of it. You could write
something like “Subscribe Now!” or “Get Free Updates”.
I will go ahead and type in “Get Free Weekly Updates”
This will be the text after the main title and before the form.
Keep it genuine. You can write about giving away a freebie or something similar. For my
case, I want only to update my readers by sending them a weekly email update.
So I’m going to write this: “Useful Tips and Tricks, from Website Design, Internet
Marketing to Fitness. Delivered Weekly and Freely
into your Inbox” Then, I will leave the field “Text To Show
After Form:” empty, but you could write something like “Your Privacy is safe with
me” or “I promise, I don’t spam” (hahaha) Login into your Aweber Account and click at
the Sign up forms Tab. Click over Create a sign up form and you leave
it as it is because it’s not important. The plugin with do the design part for us!
Head over to the Step 2 by clicking at “Go To Step 2”.
You can name here your aweber form, integrate it to Facebook
or even redirect the subscriber to a custom thank you page.
I highly recommend to create a custom Thank you page.
I will do a video about soon because the “by default page” is just “ugly”.
Anyway, moving on. Click at “Go to Step 3” and “Save Your Form”.
We are ready now to have it published! Click at “I will Install My Form”, I promise
it’s easy. Click at “Raw HTML Version”
If you are on PC, select all text by clicking at CTRL - A and Copy the text by clicking
at CTRL - C. Open your text editor. I’m using notepad
++ it’s a great and handy tool. Then paste the Raw Html Version of the code
by clicking at CTRL + V if you are on a PC. At this moment we are going to paste few lines
of code from here to our newsletter Plugin. So Here’s what we are looking for: http://www.aweber.com/scripts/addlead.pl
To make it easy click at CTRL + F if you are on PC and type in “addlead.pl” and hit
enter. Then copy the line of code inside the quotes.
Beginning from Http To .PL Go back to your widgets page and paste the
code in the Form Action field! Enter “email” and “name”. I will leave
Last name empty because I’m not collecting it.
We have one last code to take from the Raw Html Version of aweber form. I don’t know
how you pronounce it “aweber or Aweber” but Who cares! (hahaha)
In order to make it easy to read. If you are using Notepad plus plus
Go to language, Then H and then select HTML. Look for the Display: none div. Then Select
the code starting after It from the “input type hidden” to the closing div which is slash div.
Copy this code and go ahead and paste it in your widget “Hidden Fields” area.
Personally I want to keep my subscribers into the same window after they hit the button
to subscribe but you can leave it empty If you want to open your Thank You page into
a new window. After that, you can edit this fields but I’m
going to go ahead and let them by default, I will just change the text of the button
to Subscribe Now! And hit Save!
Now go over and open your website and refresh! You should have now an Amazing Sign up form
that you can easily customize! That’s it guys for this video tutorial.
I hope you liked it and it was easy to achieve. If you have any questions, comment bellow
and I will do best my best to help you out! There’s a written version of this tutorial,
