Opening Weekend at Ub - 8/11

Music The entire campus sort of pulls out a welcome mat, to help our students get the best start they possibly can to the school year. but also make them feel that they arent passing through, this is their home and this is their community. Well we have our entire Football team here and that's a roster of 105 players that are uh with us and uh and nothing better than us to be around intracting and gaging with our new students here at the University at Buffalo music We cooked 4,000 pieces of chicken 1,200 pounds red bean potatoes i think it was a 1,000 pounds of green beans two pallets of watermelon that we cut by hand. It's really nice to know that they care and that there such fun events that are planned out. Are you guys excited to be at UB? (Crowd cheers) Today we have the interlocking UB, it's actually the seventh interlocking at UB. Um what we do here today is we gather about 1,300 into the shape of the interlocking UB, the symbol of the University. I've been meeting people ever since i came here like yesterday, and it's another chance to meet you know new students i feel like since I'm a commuter i don't just want to come to school and leave. i want to have a social life i want to experience college. Give the helicopter a wave goodbye, everyone wave goodbye and I want to thank you guys for coming out for the seventh annual interlocking UB photo Well today is really special becuase this is a brand new hall It's going to be a great opportunity and it's kind of a new experience for everyone. Studying of course but um meeting a lot of new people, experiencing a lot of new things. living on my own for the first time. music This all part of our UB in the community day for opeining weekend, so we are going to five different sights in the community to give back. start making a difference from pretty much since day one. I feel like everyone's has been inspired and energized to start off the school year. music Theres always something to do my friends and I have not been bored once for the last three days. and it really is like it's on city its amazing, i love it.
