Teacher: Jason. Look come and sit down here
Teacher: Today's lesson is following on from last weeks. (fade out)
Teacher: Leonardo de Vinci. Can anyone remember some of the things Leonardo was famous for?
So there was artwork, painting, and someone said submarines and helicopters
and someone said the Vitruvian man. Very good, that's what we are talking about today
Teacher: The Vitruvian man was Leonardo's attempt to show the proportions of the body in its natural space.
I have a picture here of the Vitruvian man
Now I have some worksheets that I'm going to hand out and this is some homework I'd like you to do.
So here you go.
If any of you have trouble doing these or you need assistance, you need to alert me by next Wednesday
Student A: What references do we use?
Teacher: On the bottom of the sheets I have handed out there are some references written down there
Student B: I've got a really good book on this stuff if anyone wants to borrow it.
Teacher: The other students can talk to you after the class.
Jason: Can I speak to you about the homework after class?
Student: He's gone mate
Voice over: How do you think this class might have been made more useful to Jason?
Teacher: Hi Jason. I'm Peter, your teacher. Can I give you a hand there?
Jason: Yes thank you, if you don't mind
Teacher: OK. Look, there's a chair here. You right there?
Jason: Yes, thank you.
Teacher: Did you get the electronic versions of the work sheets and homework that I sent you
Jason: Yes, thank you
Teacher: OK that's good.
Before we go on, would you mind telling the class is there any way that we can help you in your learning here?
Jason: As you know I'm blind however it would be appreciated if you could say your names when you speak so I can get to know you by your voices. Thanks
Teacher: OK
Teacher: Today's lesson follows on from last weeks. We're on... (Fades out)
Teacher: The Vitruvian man was Leonardo's attempt to show the proportions of the body in its natural space.
Now I have a picture of the Vitruvian man here that will explain what is going on.
On this you can see there's a square and a man standing in the square with his hands out to the side.
Also there is a picture on top of that picture of the same man standing in the same position but with his legs slightly apart and his arms raised.
In this he touches the circle. Can you see how that works here?
I am going to give out some questions which I would like you to do for homework.
Jason these will be on the worksheets I gave you. Have you got those still?
Jason: Yes. I have somewhere
Teacher: OK I can give you another copy if you'd like one. Just to make sure.
I would like those done by next weeks class. Is everyone OK with that?
Anyone have any issues?
Student A: Hi. This is Toby, What references do we use?
Teacher: They're on the paper, I've given you and Jason, they're on the stuff I sent to you electronically
Student B: This is Jenna. I've got a really good book on this stuff. Would anyone like to borrow it?
Teacher: Perhaps email the details to me and I'll send them out after class.
Teacher: I'm leaving now. If anyone has any questions they can... (Fades out)
Voice over: What else made this class better? What other strategies could you use?
