As an entrepreneur and having found that various companies you are clearly looking
for a certain level of knowledge, of passion, of commitment, and ability to
really create something and change the world, right in a given different focus,
right so what happens is the rules of the game are changing, right.
Today, there are websites, like - it
is actually set up as a sort of not for
profit that his setup - a website where
kids and teenagers from around the world can go and start answering basic Math
questions and they go continue answering more and more complicated Math questions
and they have identified, I think it's a 15 or 20 most brilliant minds in
Mathematics and Programming in around the world and first of all which jumps off the
page is they are not all from the US, right? They come from a number of corners around
the world and so there is amazing talent
out there, the internet, online delivery,
what it has done is really open up an opportunity.
It's the great - they democratize of
knowledge and so what happens is - I mean clearly if you look at world class
universities, these universities are not going to disappear tomorrow.
This is for sure but they are going to change, right and I think that the reasons
- well, the paths to go to be a very, very valuable professional and to be a valuable
contributor to a company like mine, or even a much bigger company, they are not going
to depend on or they are not going to require that you pass through this world
class institutions, right?
So I think what happens is if you know, you've got new delivery platforms.
You've got geniuses around the world that don't have to access, the right access
physically to the best content to the best professors and the best others students so
the idea, how are these things going to come together, its going to have massive
implications on world class universities.
The business is not going to be - the business of education is changing and its
going to change even more radically in the future and so I think, it will clearly be
an opportunity and place for universities at the top level but again that's not
going to be the only path or the path that - the value of that path may not be the
same as it was in the past. I guess it's a matter of how these things
are going to evolve and leverage the best of world class institutions but also
opening up the platform, the delivery of content, the engagement with people that
physically can't be there and there will be new business models.
There will be new great institutions
and there is going to be a new class of brilliant professionals and very,
very rich people that are able to - even though they were born in Nigeria with very - as
an example with very limited access,
they were able to leverage the internet, the access to these new forms of delivery
and the access to great universities
and ways that they are going to be evolving
over the coming years and are very difficult to imagine today what they will
be but they will change, this is for sure.
