In this video tutorial, Transfer students will learn how to register for
classes in MySRU.
From the SRU home page locate and click on the MySRU icon
which can be found at the top right hand corner of every page on the SRU
website.
Log into MySRU with your SRU username and network password. Your
SRU username is the first part of your email address and your password is your
birthday in month/day/year format.
It is recommended that you change your password from your birthdate to better
protect the privacy of your information. You can change your password at
password.sru.edu
once you are logged in click on the student self service tab.
On the student self-service page locate the registration tools channel,
then click on the registration status link.
The registration status link will show you when you are eligible to register
for classes.
You will be prompted to select a term.
The registration status page will show you when you are eligible to register.
if you have holds preventing you from registering they will appear here.
If you are eligible to register you will see three green check marks and be in
good academic standing.
Transfer students: you need a registration PIN before you can register
on MySRU. If you have not received your registration PIN contact
your academic office for assistance.
If you have holds that prevent you from registering click the view holds link at
at the bottom of the page.
If you'd like to add classes to your schedule you can click add or job classes at the bottom of
the page.
or you can return to the student self service tab and click the add or drop classes
link from the registration tools channel.
Again you'll be prompted to select a term.
The add or drop classes page will show you your current schedule.
When adding classes you will not a get confirmation.
The simplest way to register for classes is to add to the CRN or Course
Registration Number of the class you wish to take
into the classes work sheet at the bottom of the page
Then click submit.
These classes will be automatically added to your schedule.
If you do not know the CRN of the course you wish to take, then click the
class search link at the bottom of the page.
This will take you to look up classes screen.
On the look up classes page choose a subject and click course search to see
what courses are being offered in the subject.
To choose more than one subject hold the control key and highlight your selections.
Next locate the course you are interested in and clicking view sections to see which
sections are available and how many seats are left in each course.
On the sections found page you'll see the course you selected and relevant course
information.
To see more detailed information about the course click the blue CRN link
in front of subject.
After clicking the CRN you will see the course information for the course you
selected.
Also you have the opportunity to email you professor by clicking on the
envelope near their name.
If you'd like to see the course description click on the view catalog
entry link.
This page will display the course description level and scheduled type.
return to previous.
And return to previous again. This will take you back to look up classes sections
found page.
If you've decided to register for the course check the select box
and click register. If you selected register the course will be automatically
added to your schedule on the add or drop classes page.
If you are unsure if you'd like to add this class but would like to save for
later click add to worksheet.
If you chose add to worksheet the CRN of the class you chose will appear in
the classes worksheet box at the bottom of the page.
By selecting submit changes button the course will be automatically added to your
current schedule.
If you'd like to look for a course using more specific search criteria, click the
class button to do an advanced search.
Select the subject or subjects you wish to see courses for it then click
advanced search at the bottom of the page.
On the advanced search page you must select at least one subject.
to select all subjects hold shift and use your down arrow to highlight.
To select many subjects hold control and use your mouse highlight specific
subjects
On the advanced search page you can search using the following parameters:
subject, course number, title, schedule type, instructional method,
credit range, campus, course level, instructor, attribute type, or date or time.
Attribute types include the following liberal studies goal or enrichment areas, basic
requirement, developmental course, computer competency,course taught in a foreign
language honors course, or international study abroad.
when you have chosen all your criteria,
click the section search button at the bottom the page.
On the look up classes sections found page you will see all the sections that match the
criteria you chose.
This student chose history classes that meet monday wednesdays and fridays.
A "C" in place of a checkbox means that the course is closed and you'll be unable to
register for it.
When you have chosen the courses you want to take, click register or add to
worksheet to return to your current schedule.
The classes you chose will be immediately added your schedule.
You can drop a course from your schedule by choosing drop web from the drop-down menu
that appears, in the middle, under action of the add or drop classes screen.
Then click submit changes.
you'll be unable to drop all the classes from your schedule. If you wish to do
this please contact the Academic Records Office in Old Main.
When you're finished return to the student self-service tab to continue
exploring channels of MySRU.
