DENISE'S COOKING TIPS
Flan is so delicious, and so easy to prepare!
The key to caramelizing sugar for this flan is patience.
This is how I do it. I start with one cup of sugar and one tablespoon of water.
The trick to having a more runny caramel that can be spread easily
is to squirt a little lemon juice into it.
Boil the sugar and water
and that's when patience comes into play.
It thickens little by little, taking an amber color
Mix the liquid with the sugar that has not yet melted.
And when it acquires a golden brown color,
use it immediately before it hardens.
Later, it's ready for the flan or your favorite dessert.
