three billionaires Steve
Frankie Saint Louis Rams with five and a half billion dollars
Stephen Ross who owns the Miami Dolphins is worth 4.8 billion dollars
and Arthur Blank the 1.7 billion dollar honor the Atlanta Falcons
are each ask in their local communities to build them new stadiums isn't that
sweet
sure that soldiers only bush got rich you know
I mean I aside from the money that he inherited when he was born
um some friends his dad loaned him
a little bit of money as I recall is something like seventy thousand dollars
are 117 117
somewhere in that neighborhood and
he bought a share of the texas Rangers with that
and then they went to the city and they said builders new stadium please using
mmm
taxpayer dollars they built a brand new stadium in all of a sudden the value the
team went up tremendously
and so he cashed out for millions and millions of dollars
and in fact there is enough shady going on in there that they were for an hour
people who thought that that was an indictable offence but nobody ever
bothered because he was the so the vice president at the time
you know how that works but
here's what I know about sports the Packers
the Green Bay Packers it's the
every other football team every other NFL Pro Bowl team is owned by a rich guy
and I think most amor rich white guys and
the Green Bay Packers are owned by the local community it was started by the
meat packers Union back in the day
I mean literally back in the day I fear the early part of the 20th century's
ever call
and such they distribute shares in the Packers UNM
people pass these down through their families not so holding on as a whole
I'm not an expert on the history of it but it's a community-owned team so it's
ever gonna go anywhere
every team should be like that
we should just pass a law that says you know rich guys are not allowed to own
baseball and football teams anymore it has to be a consortium of people in the
community
you know sell the stock locally
you have to live within 100 miles on the team in order to own the stock
early release for the initial purchase along with a stocky get a dividend you
know based on whether they're not the team is profitable at year
and maybe if you own a certain amount to stock you can get a season ticket or
something
and let's turn our sports into what they really should be i mean you know sports
is supposed to be proxy for war
right I mean that states to satisfy that testosterone driven
thing in men which is why women don't sit around watch sports on weekends by
and large
that testosterone driven thing in man to
to participate in or at least vicariously participate in war
and it's funny over the weekend I musta been some big game going on this weekend
cuz
the guy who lives in the boat next boats don't have real thick walls
and the guy at the boat next to us 80
we kept hearing this wow you know Gaddafi NF first always thought this guy
was like beating his wife or something
and and so she walked out onto the dock and you know
looked at his boat in areas is watching a football game at the beer to send
or some some kinda game and
so what it was the Packers beat the Red Sox
blossom if god bless a person
I would like to watch that I didn't know but anyhow he was going nuts
and it's like you know if if
sports if team sports is supposed to be
a surrogate for war the whole point a war
is for my community to fight against the community that is the aggressor or the
enemy that community over there sa
us against them right it shouldn't be
my billionaire verses your billionaire
I mean really
this just this this makes no sense to me my bill universe is your billionaire and
I i don't get it
RR by people really sit around on yes steve cranky ease sailors Ramsey St was
gonna make another battle billion dollars this team does it back I just
get that touchdown
auto no I'm of a I'm ice-t_ Ross fan you know I'm I'm
a with the Miami Dolphins you know so I what's the roster
know how could we don't sue it were not cheering are billionaires
people think they're cheering their community
my parents grew up in Miami so I'm of you know I grew up in Michigan I was
always a trade fight Tigers fan
and Detroit Lions
and I briefly went to Michigan State University and College Sports the
Spartans
but you know this stuff is saleable
alright he was the Angels went to Los Angeles from New York
at some point my lifetime there is a team that went from from
it was the Dodgers they became the Angels didn't they are they be say the
Dodgers
yeah from Brooklyn to Los Angeles there's still the Dodgers
okay thank you see this is a stupid thing about sports
but the point is how's that possible
right you grow up gone ads by team as the Dodgers I'm from Brooklyn the no no
no other with Los Angeles love
way about because the billionaire decided to move them urself on
that's nuts so for gonna have sports it's going to be a circuit for war
yeah I get colleges don't blows their teams don't move
but the stuff up billionaire zoning teams let's do away with that
let's just say communities can own teams okay
