Hello! My name is Grady Johnson and I'm a professional painter. And today I'm representing
expertvillage.com. Okay now we're ready to get started painting and prepping. When we're
prepping the walls and we're getting everything done, we want to go ahead and drop off this
area well. So, I'm going to go ahead and get this area started. I want to go ahead and
lay out my drop cloths. This one's a runner and the thing about runners is that they're
wide enough, but they're kind of thin. My drops are all different that way. So, I take
these for exterior and double them up. Remember, these exterior drops are much heavier and
thicker and we don't want them to soak through. So just go ahead and get that. It's folded
in half and throw it on out. Great. Now we want to go ahead and even it out now. Pull
this up next to the wall. It's important that it doesn't flip up like this. Because then
it gets on the backside and you've got problems. So make sure that's even on the wall. If it
rolls up like that, you want to flip it back. That looks good. So we want to grab the other
one. Now, this is a different kind of drop. It's a wider kind of drop because it's a nine
by twelve. So I always fold these up in half the other way. See, you can see that here
that I just folded that in half the other way. Now I have my double thickness and I
can get the length I want. We're going to do the same thing again. Just throw it out
and pull it all the way down the length of the wall. Okay. That's really looking good.
So now I know that everything is completely dropped off. So, whether I'm spackling, caulking,
scraping, no matter what, whatever falls from up top including real thick paint drops, it's
not going to bleed through. This is how we drop of the area to be able to do the work
when we're painting the exterior of our house.
