Hey, everyone. I'm Jonathan and I'm brand new to tumblrtransits. First of all, happy
fourth of July, everyone. I'm wearing red, white, and blue. My shorts are red. I'll be
posting on Thursdays. I'm really excited to be on an FTM collab channel. Anyway, back
to my introduction video. I'm twenty-two years old. I was born and raised in the East Bay,
California--East Bay of San Francisco, California. Sorry. And then when I was eighteen, I moved
down to Southern California to go to school. I have one more year at Harvey Mudd College.
I am majoring in music and minoring in computer science. Harvey Mudd is great. If you don't
know about it, you should look it up. It's a math, science, and engineering school. So,
my music degree is being fulfilled across the street at Scripps College. It's a liberal
arts school. It's also a women's college, but plenty of men take classes there. At school,
I work at the *** Resource Center. I'm a co-head mentor for the ***, Questioning,
Allied Mentor Program. As a head mentor I pair mentors and mentees. Also at school I'm
a music theory tutor and a computer science tutor. On to trans stuff. I identify as a guy.
That's pretty much it. I mean, I'm a guy that is trans. I'm a guy. My pronouns are he, him,
his, etcetera. My current girlfriend met me after I transitioned socially, but before
I transitioned medically. So she only met me as Jonathan, but I was pre-everything.
Our two year anniversary is coming up in September. I started testosterone on June 20th, 2012.
So I'm just over one year on T. My girlfriend has been very supportive throughout the whole medical transition process. I haven't
legally changed anything. The paperwork is all filled out. It's been all filled out for
like five months now. Yeah, but I will turn it in. I was waiting for my family to become
more supportive, but they're not really going to. My dad is, but my mom will not be supportive.
So my dad said to just go through with it. So in September I'm gonna just do that. Surgeries!
Okay, on March 13th, 2013--yeah, lucky number thirteen--I had top surgery with Dr. Curtis
Crane in San Francisco. He took over for Dr. Brownstein who was pretty well-known for female-to-male
chest reconstructive surgeries. Anyway, when I had surgery with Dr. Crane, I hadn't seen
any results, but I was hoping that he was trained well and I'm very happy with the results.
He did an amazing job. My girlfriend also did an amazing job taking care of me for the
first few weeks being post-op. As far as bottom surgery goes, I would love to have a phalloplasty,
but they're extremely expensive. If I can't get that surgery covered, then I will go with
a metoidioplasty. So, I think that was pretty much the trans stuff. General interests! I
love music. It is my major. I play guitar, piano, trombone, saxophone, drums. I play
a lot of instruments, really. I love music. I'm a composition major. I don't know if I
already said that. I also sing. I sang in a children's choir, Contra Costa Children's
Choir, for eleven years. I currently sing in a mixed chamber choir at my college. I've
been singing in mixed chamber choirs for seven years now. Besides music, I like sports. Not
watching sports, like actively participating. I like bowling. I like rock climbing, wrestling.
Wrestling used to be my life. Probably rock climbing is more my life now because my school
doesn't have a wrestling team, which is very unfortunate. Other interests! I like Spongebob.
I mean, I have a lot of random interests, as does everyone. So, I think this was a pretty
good introduction. You will all learn much more about me as the weeks go on and I post
on Thursdays. If you have any questions, message me. I'm totally up to answering questions
about my transition or transitions in general. I'll put my tumblr link below so you can send
me messages that way. Bye! See you next Thursday.
