The Army Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Army
spoke to the Fort Bragg military community during a visit there.
Casey said the Army has been working hard for the last three years to restore balance,
and they are now close to reaching that goal. [Casey] We are actually getting to the point
as an Army where we can really start to breathe again.
And what you're seeing here is increased time at home between deployments.
We're looking at a point now where by this time next year,
when we start fiscal year '12, the troops that will be deploying after that
time can look to having close to two years at home.
Casey went on to say that the additional dwell time
will also give soldiers more opportunities to train.
