Hi Kicesie, my name is Paul. In your recent video you
mention that 20 % of guys thought a woman couldn't get
pregnant if she was standing up reminds me of two sayings.
First, people are idiots. Second, people will believe
anything.
Now it might seem to be reasonable that since, in the
missionary position the guy goes in like this and it would
cause gravity to help increase the possibility of conception.
Have her stand up and we get this, so the *** would tend
to not go in as far. But this misses a few things.
First, it would be the same position as 'woman on top' and I
don't think anyone is going to claim that makes much
difference. Second, *** doesn't just drool out of the
***, it is expelled out under pressure; any man can tell you
he can feel it being pumped out so there is pressure to force
it toward the inside. Also, women often have the equivalent
in muscular contractions diring sex which can draw ***
toward the inside.
Also, to put it simply, it don't take much. An average
*** contains about 3/5 of one teaspoon. It contains
about 500 million ***, call it the equivalent of the
population of North America. And it only requires one.
Now, I don't want to minimize the risks here, but a woman
is only fertile about six days a month. If she's not sexually
active during that time, even if she's had unprotected sex she
can't get pregnant. The *** is acidic so it tends to be
*** ***, that's why so many get released so that
potentially one will make it. Some women just have a hard
time getting pregnant. Also, *** are only motile - that's a
fancy word meaning alive - for about three days after
***. Some say five. So if she has sex more than
twelve days before or after her period whether or not they
use contraception she won't get pregnant
Put all this together, some woman who had sex standing up
14 days before her period and didn't use a ***, and
didn't get pregnant then thinks this prevents pregnancy
when it was just the luck of the draw that she was outside
the window of vulnerability. A week later or a couple
weeks earlier and the answer might have been different.
Plus sometimes your ovulation time changes and the time
you're vulnerable would change. If you presume you can
always get pregnant and plan accordingly, you're not going
to have trouble later.
Besides, depending on not striking the window of
vulnerability as a form of contraception has a name, and
there is a technical term for women who use it. It's called
the rhythm method and we eventually refer to them as
'mothers'.
